Rev. Patrick Obel
Rev. Obel teaches in the department of Psychology at PAC University, and has been an adjunct lecturer at Nazarene University, Harvesters Bible College, OASIS Africa Institute of Leadership and Psychology, and Kapsabet Bible College. He is also the University Counselor, since January 2012.
Previously, he worked with Sunshine Secondary School since 1995, rising from the position of lab technologist, Assistant Chaplain, and finally to Chaplain.
He holds an MA in Counselling Psychology from Daystar University, a Bachelor of Arts in Bible and Theology from Pan Africa Christian College (now Pan Africa Christian University), a Diploma in Applied Chemistry from The Kenya Polytechnic (now Technical University of Kenya).
He has attended a number of professional and leadership courses both locally and internationally.
He is also a conference speaker both locally and internationally in matters of family, youth and church leadership with Alpha International.
Rev. Obel has served as a Mathematics and Physics teacher at Sirikwa Secondary School in Eldoret and in various leadership roles both in social justice and Christian Ministry contexts.
For instance, between 1996 and 2002 served in executive committee of Parkroad Fellowship (An interdenominational Christian Outreach Fellowship reaching High Schools and Universities); 2003-2006 served as a volunteer chaplain of Beacon of Hope, a Faith-based NGO assisting women and children affected by HIV and AIDS in Ongata Rongai, Kajiado county; 2008-2011 served as a Board of Director of Bridge to Liberty a CBO helping to reintegrate ex-prisoners back to society; 2010-2011 served as the secretary of the Kenya association of Christian Chaplains-Schools.
Currently he serves in the Board of Directors of Vision Ministries Kenya as the Chairman of the Board; an executive member of the Board of Kenya Psychological Association; Associate therapist with OASIS Africa; Lead therapist of Fountain Professional Counselling Services.
Rev. Obel is Pastor and an active member of Fountain of Hope Chapel, Ongata Rongai, in Kajiado County and Bethesda Ministries International Kenya.
He has served as an associate pastor of Deliverance Church Lang’ata and a church planter with Nairobi Chapel.
He is married and has four beautiful daughters. His passion lies in empowering individuals to realize their potential and make a positive difference in their world.
